That’s right. Tonight we have no kids. It’s just my bride and me.
And we purposefully planned it that way.
How are you cultivating your marriage? Are you fighting in your marriage or fighting for your marriage? Be intentional.
Here’s some ideas for dating your spouse. I shared these a few weeks ago at church.
- Go on a picnic
- Take a walk together
- Ride bikes together
- Pretend you are pursuing her as if she was someone you wanted to date
- Surprise your spouse: Plan an Amazing Race type night
- Plan out a Progressive Dinner to eat a 3 course meal in 3 different restaurants (salad one place, main dish in another place and dessert at a 3rd location)
- Take a bath together (candles, music, read Sheet Music TOGETHER)
- Plan a Date Night @ Home–after kids go to bed (without TV)
- Leave Love Notes around the house and car (pillow, bathroom mirror, pantry)
- I used to make Mix tapes (now I fill up her mp3 player w/ music)
- Go watch PLANES take off at the airport
- Draw a picture // Make something (a craft) from scratch
- Spend TIME alone together
- Fix something around the house (TOGETHER)
- Pamper her (take over all the chores, massage her feet, paint fingernails) without the expecting anything in return from her.
- Surprise him (initiate intimacy)
- Do something NEW (sign up to take dance lessons (it features intense eye & body contact and teaches you some lessons about moving together as one)
